MJ’S FAVORITE- SUSHI


In my previous post I wrote that sushi was Michael Jackson’s favorite food. So I thought making some simple sushi with fish filling this weekend while I listen to the great numbers of MJ.
Sushi is one of the famous traditional Japanese meal . It is a food made of rice combined with various toppings and delicious fillings, which includes seafood and can also include vegetables, mushrooms, eggs, or meat. Sushi toppings may be raw, like most fish; cooked; blanched; or marinated.There are various types of sushi, the most common one being maki (rolls) - sushi served rolled in dried nori sheets. This is a very healthy choice also.
INGREDIENTS:

For sushi rice
Japanese-style cooked rice 3 cups
Rice vinegar 3/4 cup
Sugar 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Roasted nori sheet
For filling:
Balanced boneless fish scramble ½ cup
Balanced prawn 4 to 5
Balanced beans and carrot slices ½ cup


PROCEDURE:

Cook rice according to package instructions.Mix vinegar, sugar and salt.mix vinegar mixture into cooked rice until well combined. Place nori sheet on roller and spread a thin layer of the sushi rice over the nori. Place your filling in a center line on the nori sheet. Begin rolling by carefully folding over the top edge and starting the roll. Continue to roll, keeping the roll as tight as possible. To roll sushi you can use a bamboo sushi mat, or just use a clean towel instead, or you can even forego the roller and just carefully roll using your hands but this need a bit expertise. Take a sharp knife and slice the roll into 1- 1 1/2 inch pieces.
You can have it with any sushi dip or sushi sauce but my favorite dip recipe is (In a small bowl, combine 1tsp wasabi paste,2tsp of finely sliced scallion green part, ½ cup mirin, 6tbsp soy sauce and 1tsp of dark sesame oil, and stir until combined.)

THE ICONIC STAR MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD


Michael Joseph Jackson birth name of the great entertainer of 20th century, Michael Jackson was born in Gary Indiana 1958. This legendary star died today. He was only 50 years old. Earlier today Jackson was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest. It has been reported that when the paramedics arrived to his home in Los Angeles, Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
Michael Jackson talent as a singer, writer, dancer was unparallel and it was this prodigious talent that will be remembered long and prevail over the negative aspect of his life.
We may love him or we may hate him but we can never ignore him.He was one of the most important and influential musical figures of the 20th century. His passing is the sad end of a remarkable era.

This food blog pay tribute to the King Of Pop Michael Jackson by remembering his favorite food.

LIME PRAWN


Today some friends called me and say they are coming to my place . In a hot summer night I am worried what to serve that will be delicious yet refreshing and perfect for summer. Then I remember my Mom use to cook a delicious prawn so I cook that . I am sure my friend will like this. While I am waiting for them to come and make me crazy let share this recipe with you all. I am sure you will like this refreshing Lime Prawn.

INGREDIENTS:

Jumbo prawn 7 to 8
Turmeric powder 2 pinch (optional)
Refined oil 2 tbsp
Grated coconut 5 to 6 tbsp
Coconut milk ½ cup
Red chilly paste ¼ tsp
Sugar ½ tsp or according to taste
Salt according to taste
Lemon juice 2 tsp



PROCEDURE:

Peel the shell, remove the veins and clean the prawn. Now marinate the prawn with salt and turmeric powder . Now put a pan on flame give oil in it sauté the prawn give grated coconut stir for a minute add coconut milk cook for a while and then add chilly paste , salt and sugar cook for 2 to 3minutes and you are done . Now take it in serving dish let it cool to the room temperature then add the lime juice. Garnish with lime wedge and coriander leaves.

CELEBRATE FATHER’S DAY WITH GRILLED FISH IN CREAMY SAUCE


“A father is a fellow who has replaced the currency in his wallet with the snapshots of his kids”-
Wishing you all A very Happy Father’s Day.

I dedicate this wonderful recipe to all the loving Dad’s of the world. Wish if my Dad be with me today I would cook this recipe for him and tell him that he is the most wonderful gift of God. But that is not possible. Anyway I know my father is having good time with Father Almighty. So while I send my love vibration to my Dad you take a look of the recipe and let me know how you and your Dad like it.



INGREDIENTS:

Boneless fish fillets 2
Lemon juice 2tsp
Mustard powder ½ tsp
Butter 1tsp
Fresh cream 4tsp
Sugar ½ tsp
Basil chopped ½ tsp
Parsley chopped ½ tsp
Oil (refined) 1tsp
Salt and pepper according to taste
Lemon wedge 2


PROCEDURE:

First of all marinate the fish with 1tsp of lemon juice, mustard powder, salt , pepper and chopped basil. Put on the flame and if you have a grill pan, this ribbed pan is very useful for low calorie fast indoor grilling (otherwise use simple pan) give oil and then put the fish and grill the fish (shallow fry). Put the grilled fish on a serving dish. For the sauce put another pan on slow flame put butter as it melt add the cream stir and then add sugar salt and pepper. After this put off the flame then add 1tsp of lemon juice and chopped parsley stir and pour the sauce over the fish. Garnish with lemon wedge. My Father’s Day recipe is read to serve.

SPICY SWEET LIME JUICE


It’s too hot today and after the day work I don’t feel like taking any solid food. So I tried this granny special sweet lime juice today. A friend of mine gifted a box of sweet lime last Sunday. So I have a good number of them in my refrigerator. This is also my Dad’s favorite. As father’s day is coming close I am remembering my Dad in such special ways.
My father is with God for the last 10yrs , I say to myself not to tell I lost my father.
Death can take away the physical body but the love and blessings remain for ever. Now he is more close to me, he stay in my heart and will remain there for ever .
So today a granny’s special and Dad’s favorite Spicy Sweet Lime Juice. I hope you will like this little salty and little sweet and very little hot taste of this unique drink . Let me know .

INGREDIENTS:

Sweet lime juice – 1cup
Lemon juice- 1tbsp
Black salt- according to taste
Sugar- according to taste
Ice cube - 5 to 6
Crushed ice- 2tbsp
Roasted dry spice- 11/2 pinch

For Roasted Dry Spice
Cardamom 2
Cinnamon ½ inch
Cumin seed ½ tsp
Dried bay leaves one medium size
Dried red chilly 1


PROCEDURE:

First of all dry roast all the spices .Put it in a mixer and make a fine powder (this recipe need a very small amount of the spice but you can store this spice in a air tight container and sprinkle it to your fruit or vegetable salad or your butter milk.).
Now in a shaker the sweet lime juice, lemon juice, black salt, sugar and ice cube shake it well and now take your favorite glass put some crushed ice first and then the sweet lime juice from the shaker . Now sprinkle the roasted dry spice above the drink and serve chill.

I am sure the taste of this juice will remind you about your father who is little salty and sweet and some time bit spicy.

Enjoy this drink and don’t forget to send love to your Dad even if you have lot of differences.

DELICIOUS EGG CUPS FOR BREAKFAST


This weekend if you are alone and want to give yourself a healthy treat then go for this delicious easy egg cups I think you will enjoy this wonderful smooth experience. For me this is one of my best lazy Sunday Breakfast.

INGREDIENT:

Egg 1
Cheese 1tbsp
Green ,yellow
and red bell pepper 1tsp(very finely chopped)
Onion 1tsp (very finely chopped0
Green chilly 1/8 tsp(very finely chopped)
Oregano 1pinch
Cilantro ½ tsp (very finely chopped)
Chilly flakes 1 pinch
Salt according to taste.
Olive oil ½ tsp
Boiled beans
and baby carrot 2 to 3.


PROCEDURE:

Mix egg, cheese ,bell pepper, onion, green chilly( you can avoid this also) ,chilly flakes, cilantro, oregano and salt well and then pour the mixture into a small bowl and cook it in the microwave for 2 minutes . Mean while put ½ tsp of olive oil in a pan and put the glazed vegetable sprinkle some salt and pepper and cilantro . Take a small bowl of tomato sauce add a pinch of oregano and chilly flakes to give some more tang. Now in a serving dish serve the prepared egg , vegetables, tomato sauce and some bread roll. You are done have it with your favorite morning fruit juice.
The easy breakfast treat for Sunday is ready.

REFRESHING MINT COOLER


Today I am sharing with you a very simple yet very refreshing summer cooler. While you sip this delicious drink have a look on the article below written by a wonderful guest author Kimberly Peterson. INGREDIENTS:

Ice cube 5 to 6
Mint leaves 2tbsp (roughly chopped)
Brown sugar 1tbsp
Green lemon juice 4tbsp
Green lemon pieces 3to 4 (small cube)
Salt 1pinch
Crushed ice 1tbsp
Soda ½ cup

PROCEDURE:
Take the mint leaves, lemon juice, ice cube, brown sugar and pinch of salt in a shaker. Then give it a good shake. Now take a chilled (put a ice cube in the glass a shake it for ½ a minute) mock tail serving glass put the crushed ice then lemon pieces and then the mint shake then add the soda. Don’t wait serve chill.

Deceptively Delicious

Jessica Seinfeld’s revolutionary cookbook for kids, Deceptively Delicious, has been out for almost two years and is still making waves amidst cooking circles. While there are many who hate the idea of deceiving your children and believe kids should eat vegetables on their own, there are still many more who appreciate the novel approach she took through the publication of her book. Overall, it is a matter of opinion when debating between methods of introducing vegetables to your child; it depends on whatever works best for your specific situation, although the idea of hiding vegetables in food has been around for years. With childhood obesity reaching an all-time high, it is imperative that cookbooks such as this should be written in order to counteract the growing number of children who rely on sweets and fast food for their meals.
It is not hard to prepare healthy meals for your children, but it can be difficult in getting them to eat said meal, especially if the meal contains any hint of vegetables or another food item kids may not enjoy. Cookbooks such as these teach quick and easy tips to parents that in effect “hide” many vegetables from taste and sight. While this may seem like you are tricking your child and thereby raising them to hate vegetables, it is in fact very beneficial in getting younger children to eat healthier. Many children grow up picky eaters (only to learn later as adults how much they love food), but books such as these are godsends for parents because snacks as seemingly unhealthy as brownies can be laden with vegetables without the child knowing. In this fast-paced work world it additionally becomes difficult to plan your mealtimes to coincide with your work days and many nights result in eating out, which only instills bad eating habits onto your children. Seinfeld’s book works to counteract this result by encouraging more “eating-in” through her variety of traditional meals that most kids enjoy.
Healthy meals are difficult to prepare and any cookbook which makes the process easier is a welcome addition to any mom’s bookshelf, especially a mom with young children. The most finicky eaters will be unable to detect the added ingredients in most of these meals, and may at best sense a different ingredient without any way to ascertain what that special addition may be. Dinnertime is difficult enough without attempting to sway a child into eating their meals; this way, dinner runs a little smoother at least. It is additionally helpful that Seinfeld’s book contains many nutritional facts, including insight by a child nutritionist and tips on how to keep your children healthy. Many moms do not understand the importance of child nutrition and the keys to setting children on a healthy diet from the very first years of their life; if you wait too long, your kids could become accustomed to poor eating habits and thus end up lacking proper nutrients or ending up with childhood obesity. It is best to curb poor eating habits early any way that you can, and if you have to resort to hiding vegetables in meals, Seinfeld’s book is the way to do it.

BAKED FISH FILLET WITH TURKISH SALAD


Your Always is celebrating her Birthday today with family and friends . Yes I have passed one more blessed year and now on the way to another. The difference between all my Birthdays till date, and this year is I have you all my friends and you are one of the best gift that God have ever blessed me with. You all are far form me but all your love and support fill my heart and soul with full of happiness. Pray to God friend that may we walk a long journey together.

Now today I am not the cook, Mom cook some delicious recipe for me and my Big brother bought a huge pink cake . As I share my birthday with World Environment Day so my intelligent sweet Mom prepared a delicious green Turkish salad and a yummy baked fish with many other but this two top the chart. Let me share with you my Birthday’s chart topper recipes Baked Fish and Turkish Salad.

INGREDIENTS:

For Turkish salad


Diced tomatoes 1 ½ cups
Shredded red cabbage ½ cup
Diced green bell pepper 1 cup
Sliced cucumber (peeled) 1 cup
Green onion 1/3 cup
Minced fresh parsley ½ cup
Olive oil 1 tablespoon
Fresh lemon juice ¼ cup
Water 2 tablespoons
Salt &
Freshly ground pepper according to taste

For Baked Fish Fillet


Fish fillet 150grms
Boiled potato 1
Asparagus 4 to 5
Fine flour 20grms
Mozzarella cheese use as much to cover
the fish fillet
Salt and pepper according to taste
Olive oil 40ml


PROCEDURE:
For Turkish salad

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
For Baked Fish Fillets
Dust the fish fillet with flour and sauté in olive oil . Boiled and mashed potatoes with salt.
Now in a greased baking dish first make a bed of mashed potatoes and then placed the fish fillets .put the asparagus on them and then add the grated cheese over it. Bake it in the oven cook till the cheese melt and you are done.

DELICIOUS MANGO DELIGHT


Summer is that time of the year where my love for mango reach it’s height. Let me share with you today one of my favorite mango drink recipe. This is the one drink that I never get bored with and enjoy it every time, right from my teenage years . I hope you will like it .

INGREDIENTS:

Mango pulp ½ cup
Lemon juice 1tbsp
Sugar 1tsp (optional)
Black salt ¼ tsp
Roasted cumin powder ¼ tsp
Water 1 glass
Ice cube 5
Mint leaves 2 to 3


PROCEDURE:

Put all the ingredients except the ice cube and the mint leaves in a blender. When everything is well blended take a tall glass put some ice cube and then pour the mango drink in it garnish with mint leaves . This is a delicious yummy drink enjoy with your loved ones.
