The annual American Cancer Society fund-raiser Relay For Life is often described as a fun filled event.
What is a Relay?
Overnight relay-style event
Teams of people camp out around a track
Members of each team take turns walking around the track for the duration of the event
Food, games and activities provide entertainment and fundraising opportunities
Family-friendly environment for the entire community
It is so fun that you probably find hard to leave. But it has a serious side too. Relay for Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. During the Relay For Life Luminaria event, white luminaria bags, this are the bags filled with hope and love are decorated and personalized in memory or honor of a loved one, and illuminated after dark. At sunset, luminaria’s are lined around the race track to illuminate the night and celebrate hope, strength, and the fight to save more lives.
